Like a scorching hot, sexually virile phoenix rising from the ashes of Stourbridge's dirty rock band, Monolith, A Kinky Evil are here to break the mould set forth by the thousands of boring rock bands that have come before.
They wield a sound described by drummer Jack Brierley as, “An explosion in a sex factory.”
Indeed.
In the beginning, there were only three; singer and guitarist Ste Gough, funk-fuelled bassist Brendan Wells and monkey Buddha drummer, Jack Brierley. They knew it was meant to be from the very beginning, as they all had silver cars (spooky!).
The trio jammed together for months, forging a sound unlike any other before it. In spite of this, something didn‘t feel right. A piece of the puzzle was missing.
That piece came in the svelte, well-toned form of ex-Monolith guitarist and song-writer Joel Wooldridge. Joel transformed the trio into a quartet (that means four) and destiny was fulfilled.
Chords were played, sticks were broken, songs were sung and occasionally, the piss was taken.
But nonetheless, these guys are something else. Listen, love and learn….
